About JOMON DAYS SATELLITE

Date: Saturday, October 1, 2022 – Monday, January 9, 2023
Location: Tokyu Plaza Ginza 4F (5-2-1 Ginza, Chuo-ku, Tokyo)

The Japan Digital Arts Sports Organization (Location: Kudan Minami, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Katsuji Amagasaki; hereinafter “JDAS”) will hold the second installment of “JOMON DAYS,” an event to experience sustainable Jomon period lifestyle and culture.
JOMON DAYS SATELLITE will be held at Tokyu Plaza Ginza from October 1 (Saturday).
JOMON DAYS is an event adopted by the Agency for Cultural Affairs as a subsidized project under the 2022 Japan Expo as an opportunity to create cultural resource contents (innovation-type project).
Location: Tokyu Plaza Ginza 4F (5-2-1 Ginza, Chuo-ku, Tokyo)

“JOMON DAYS SATELLITE” is an event to promote awareness of the Japanese Jomon culture, which is said to have a lot to do with the SDGs of today, and to provide an opportunity for people to think about the future together.

This event will be held in full cooperation with the Sannai-Maruyama Site Center in Aomori Prefecture, which represents the Jomon culture, and will exhibit pottery and clay figures from the Sannai-Maruyama Site.

There will also be a corner where visitors can experience Jomon culture through the latest VR.

In addition, the exhibit will be available in Japanese, English, and Chinese for the enjoyment of foreign visitors to Japan and we plan to invite experts from different industries to give lectures on the Jomon culture from their own perspectives.

Background of the “JOMON DAYS” Project

In July 2021, it was decided that the “Jomon Monuments of Hokkaido and the Northern Tohoku Region” would be registered as a World Heritage Site.

In recent years, the unique lifestyle and culture of the Jomon period have been attracting attention from new perspectives as “cute” and “interesting.

In these times, we would like to share the splendor of the Jomon culture in Japan through this event and use it as a driving force to promote the SDGs.

About JOMON DAYS

This event consists of two parts: “JOMON DAYS SATELLITE,” which will open at Tokyu Plaza Ginza in October, and “JOMON DAYS WORKSHOP,” a workshop event that will tour three locations across Japan.

At each event, visitors will be able to experience the Jomon lifestyle and culture in various forms and experience the sustainable Jomon period.

Details will be updated on the “JOMON DAYS” official website as needed.
